Liz Bradbury (she/her) is the CEO and Senior Director of Training at D.E.I. Associates, a Division of Boudica Publishing. Bradbury has presented 100s of leading edge LGBTQIA+ Issues trainings to tens of thousands of people since she began as an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community in the 1970s. Bradbury has helped to craft and pass 10 key LGBTQ civil rights laws and ordinances in Pennsylvania. These include the inclusion of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity to the PA Hate Crimes Law and the first Pennsylvania passage of “gender identity” as a protected class in PA municipal non-discrimination law in any PA municipality, when she led the passage in Allentown in 2002.

Bradbury has a duel major undergraduate degree for the Maryland Institute of Art in Education and in Design, she hold a terminal Master’s of Fine Art Degree in Design with a minor in Art History from Indiana State Univ. in Terre Haute Indiana, where she headed LGBT committees on the University’s LGBT Student Organization in the 1970s. She was a tenured professor of Art at State University of New York in the 1980s, where she chaired the University’s Diversity Committee when it added sexual orientation to its non-discrimination policy in 1982.


Bradbury has been called in as an expert on LGBTQIA+ issues to government agencies, and on radio and television. She served for 15 years on the Human Relations Commission of the City of Allentown (including three years as Chair) where she wrote the guidelines for discrimination investigations and trained investigators.

Bradbury was a founder and leader, and the Lehigh Valley Organizer of the Pennsylvania Gay and Lesbian Alliance for Political Action from 1994 to 2006. Bradbury was the publisher of the Valley Gay Press - The Lehigh Valley’ and Berk’s County’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Opinion and Newspaper for 18 years, beginning in 1998. She was the Executive Director of Pennsylvania Diversity Network (PDN) from 2006 to 2016. Along with Adrian Shanker and Patricia Sullivan, Bradbury founded the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center in Allentown where she served as the Director of the Center’s Training Institute for 8 years. When PDN became the LGBTQ Community Center, the organization’a board named the Center for her and her spouse, Patricia Sullivan.

Bradbury is the author of over 400 published articles, interviews, and columns on LGBTQIA+ issues. She has a regular column in Gay Journal Magazine.

Bradbury has trained widely diverse groups and organizations including: 17 Pennsylvania school districts, all Pennsylvania State prison wardens, a variety of nursing homes and older adult care providers, the US Department of Labor, the entire staff of the Lehigh County and Northampton County Departments of Health and Human Services, 1000+ COVID19 Contact Tracers for the PA Department of Health, along with faith based groups, colleges, healthcare organizations, law enforcement organizations, international corporations, law firms, and resorts. She presented an international webinar on LGBTQIA+ health issues with US Assist Secretary for Health, Admiral Rachel Levine, MD.

In 2018 Bradbury was appointed by Governor Wolf to the Pennsylvania Alzheimer’s State Plan Task Force where she served for 5 years. She currently serves on the Pennsylvania State Juvenile Justice SOGIE Committee which advises the Governor and State Juvenile Justice Staff on LGBT Youth Juvenile Justice Issues. She also serves on the National History Day LGBTQ Award Committee for Pennsylvania. She is currently the Vice Chair of the Lehigh County Human Relations Advisory Council, and the chair of its Legislative Committee.

Bradbury wrote the chapter, ‘Caregiving Concerns for Older LGBTQ Adults’* in the groundbreaking and critically acclaimed LGBT healthcare anthology “Bodies and Barriers - Queer Activists on Health.” Her chapter has been cited in significant health informational papers and texts.

Liz Bradbury is a certified SAGE (The National Organization for Advocacy and Services for LGBT Elders) Trainer.
